About Sylvia
I’m Sylvia, a personal trainer with over 20 years of experience and a mum of two. I love helping people feel stronger, healthier and more confident, and I’m especially passionate about supporting women through different stages of life. From pre and postnatal fitness to perimenopause and menopause, I understand how your body changes and how important the right support can be.
After completing my Master’s in Sports and Exercise Physiology, I worked with Nuffield Health, but I missed the connection you get from working closely with people. That’s what led me to co-found North Leeds Fitness, where I could build real relationships and support clients long term.
I now run personal training and small group sessions from our private studio, creating a friendly, supportive space where everyone feels comfortable and motivated.
Outside of work, I love strength training, yoga and netball (which I’ve recently got back into after 20 years!). I also enjoy long walks, good food, travel and time with my family—and I truly believe in finding a healthy balance between staying active and enjoying life.
About Chris
I’m Chris, a personal trainer with a background in boxing. After 15 years as an amateur boxer, I went on to have a number of professional fights before injuries led me to step away from the sport. Coaching has always been a big part of my life, starting with boxing at a young age and naturally progressing into personal training.
Over the years, I’ve developed a real interest in injury prevention and rehabilitation, and discovered a passion for Pilates as a way to build strength, improve movement and support recovery. I’ve worked with a wide range of clients, including those with chronic conditions, which has taught me how important it is to adapt training to each individual. It’s something I find both interesting and genuinely humbling.
I support Sylvia in running North Leeds Fitness, and we’re lucky to work from our private studio in Shadwell with some amazing views. Recently, I’ve also started coaching my son’s football team, which I really enjoy. Outside of work, I love bird watching, wildlife and spending time in Scotland—my favourite place to switch off and recharge.
